Who
We Are
We
are a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing rehabilitative
aquatic therapy to Individuals who may be experiencing symptoms
from Arthritis, Cerebral Palsy, Cystic fibrosis, ALS (Lou Gehrig's
Disease), and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). This will include
individuals of all ages. We are aiming to specialize with patients
such as juveniles, Special Olympians, sports athletes and war
veterans.
Overview
SAIFTE
is a non-profit organization dedicated to the vision of improving
the health of the community through Aquatic Integration and aquatic
physical education by improving the quality of life of individuals
affected with symptoms from such conditions as Arthritis, Cerebral
Palsy, Cystic fibrosis, ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), and TBI (Traumatic
Brain Injury).
Mission
Statement
Our
Mission as SAIFTE is to provide Aquatic Integration therapy along
with aquatic physical education in a warm water environment. These
practices can assist in the physical rehabilitation of individuals
experiencing symptoms of arthritis and cerebral palsy.
Our
Vision and Services
SAIFTE's
vision is to improve the health of the community through Aquatic
Integration and aquatic physical education.
In
the first five to ten years, SAIFTE will specialize in treating
juveniles living with arthritis and cerebral palsy. These conditions
affect areas of the body such as muscles, joints, hips and the
spine.
In
the following ten to fifteen years, our vision will include working
with juveniles suffering from sports-related concussions which
have been linked to the neurological symptoms resembling amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Our
fifteen to twenty year vision is to aid in the pre- and post-amputation
phases for disabled American veterans. Individuals who have experienced
the loss of a limb(s) can exhibit a decrease in motor control
and a loss of balance.
SAIFTE
is the ideal environment to offer the tools necessary to assist
in their progression for an active recovery. By providing these
specialized services, we seek to improve and aid these populations
in their recovery process and pain management, leading to a better
quality of life.
Our Current Fundraising Project
Our goal is to raise $50,000 by the end of 2021 to acquire a long term lease at 2200 Clement Street, San Francisco CA. This location is currently being held for SAIFTE with the support of the owner and the community to raise funds to offer aquatic therapy services within the San Francisco community.
2200 Clement Street is the ideal location to build multiple aquatic therapy pools because it has open space construction due to the fact it was an old movie theater.
The funds needed for this project are purely based on donation support. Please refer to our donation button on our webpage if you would like to donate to this project.
